Tuberculosis (TB)

Tuberculosis (TB) remains one of the deadliest infectious diseases, claiming millions of lives worldwide.

Introduction

EANNASO (Eastern Africa National Networks of AIDS Service Organizations) plays a pivotal role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the End TB Strategy through its tuberculosis programs across Eastern and Southern Africa. Aligned with the priorities of the Global Plan to End TB 2023–2030, EANNASO actively strengthens community-led responses to TB by empowering civil society, supporting national TB programs, and advocating for increased domestic and international investment in TB prevention, care, and research. By promoting inclusive, rights-based approaches and enhancing the capacity of community networks, EANNASO ensures that marginalized and key populations are not left behind in the TB response. The organization’s work directly contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering multisectoral collaboration and advocating for policies that reflect community realities. Through its regional platforms and technical support, EANNASO aligns with the Global Plan’s blueprint by bridging the gap between policy and grassroots implementation, ensuring that TB responses are community-informed, adequately funded, and sustainable.
