Early investments in surveillance, lab capacity, and community engagement are essential for detecting and controlling outbreaks early.

The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the urgent need to strengthen health systems and mobilize resources for pandemic preparedness. Addressing this challenge requires collective global action, so we are part of the Pandemic Action Network (PAN), a platform launched in April 2020 by global health, crisis response, and communication leaders.

With over 400 organisations, PAN advocates for long-term preparedness to prevent future pandemics. EANNASO plays a key role by sharing timely information on pandemics and health emergencies through various communication platforms. Achieving better readiness for “Disease X” or the next pandemic demands strong partnerships and collaboration.
