Anglophone Africa Global Fund CRG Regional Coordination and Communication Platform

EANNASO is currently serving as the Global Fund civil society and community group’s Regional Communication and Coordination Platform for Anglophone Africa under the Community, Rights and Gender (CRG Strategic Initiative) for the second phase 2017 – 2019 continued from the first phase 2014 – 2016.  The work of EANNASO as the regional platform is guided by four objectives:

a) Further the meaningful engagement of civil society and community groups through regular bi-directional communication and provision of accurate and accessible information to enhance the knowledge and participation of these actors in Global Fund-related processes;

b) Improve the overall impact of Global Fund programs and interventions, and disease responses more globally through strengthened engagement of civil society and communities affected by HIV, tuberculosis and malaria;

c) Expand access to technical assistance (TA) for civil society and community groups through greater coordination with the CRG Strategic Initiative short-term TA component, as well as key national, regional and global technical assistance partners; and,

d) Support strategic civil society and community capacity development initiatives.

EANNASO covers 25 Anglophone countries namely: Angola, Botswana, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zanzibar, Mauritius and Zimbabwe.

EANNASO prioritized access to information for civil society and community groups, in order to enhance the impact of capacity development and learning and evidence to influence decision making around human rights and gender equality. This has seen us use different mediums (infographic posters, video toolkits, physical toolkits) in most commonly spoken languages in the region, (English, French, Kiswahili, and Portuguese languages, etc.)
