Who we are

The Eastern Africa National Networks of AIDS and Health Service Organisations (EANNASO) is a regional network of Civil Society (CS) and Community Groups (CG) that provide HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, SRH and other health services.
EANNASO also engages in advocacy work around issues such as COVID-19 PPP and medical waste management, SRH etc. Established in 2002, EANNASO focuses on policy advocacy, community engagement, human rights, and gender-inclusive programming across the Africa region.

EANNASO has active membership in Eastern Africa countries, including Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), and Uganda. Through Focal Point Organisations (NFOs), EANNASO extends its reach to Anglophone and Lusophone Africa, implementing programs in countries like Angola, Botswana, DRC, Eswatini, Ghana, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Over the past three decades, EANNASO has supported and promoted the role of CS and CG in their responses to HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, and SRHR, particularly those representing communities most affected by these diseases. EANNASO ensures meaningful engagement in policy development, program planning and implementation, health systems strengthening, and accountability, aiming for the quality delivery of health commodities and services in a non-discriminatory manner.

  3. Improve information exchange, collective learning, and scalable best practices among members, civil society, and communities to combat HIV, TB, and associated diseases.
  4. Strengthen governance and accountability of member organizations to their constituencies.
  5. Increase the effectiveness, sustainability, and coordinating capacity of EANNASO as a network.
