Who are we?

The Eastern Africa National Networks of AIDS and Health Service Organizations (EANNASO) is a regional umbrella body bringing together civil society (CS) and community group (CG) voices to inform policies and improve the programming of HIV, TB, Malaria and other health issues present in the communities. Found in 2002, EANNASO is made up of seven (7) national networks of AIDS and Health Promotion Service Organizations in the following countries (Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania [Mainland and Zanzibar] and Uganda).

Though EANNASO is an east Africa membership organization, she works with CS and communities in the broader Anglophone Africa as she remains the only surviving sub-regional HIV, TB and Health network.  EANNASO is known for coordinating civil society and community expertise as its strongest niche and building on existing capacities to strengthen the voice of CS and CG.

Organizational Values

  1. Integrity: EANNASO staff and members are stewards that believe in professionalism at all levels of service delivery, and puts transparency and accountability at the forefront of program implementation and the management of public resources
  2. Unity: EANNASO supports consultation and participation of all stakeholders at all stages of their interventions and works towards creating a sense of belonging and ownership; through sharing and promoting a common voice and vision and valuing the strength of teamwork to achieve its mission
  3. Equity: EANNASO promotes a strong rights orientation that reinforces justice, fairness, respect and compassion.
  4. Leadership: EANNASO fosters leadership development at all levels, encouraging innovation and excellence through continuous learning.

Organizational Objectives

a) To facilitate improved enabling environment and partnerships through networking, policy engagement, constructive dialogue and programmatic alliances;

b) To enhance development effectiveness and sustainability through capacity development and raising professional standards of members and their major constituencies;

c) To enhance information exchange, collective learning and scalable best practices among members and CS and communities in the areas of ending HIV, and TB and other associated diseases;

d) To strengthen governance and inward and downward accountability of member organizations to their respective constituencies; and,

e) To increase effectiveness, sustainability and coordinating capacity of EANNASO as a network.

Our History

2000 – 2005

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence.

2005 – 2010

I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface.

2010 – 2015

I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees, and but a few stray gleams steal into the .

2015 – Now

The quick, brown fox jumps over a lazy dog. DJs flock by when MTV ax quiz prog. Junk MTV quiz graced by fox whelps. Bawds jog, flick quartz, vex nymphs. Waltz, bad nymph, for quick jigs vex! Fox nymphs grab quick-jived waltz. Brick quiz whangs jumpy veldt fox. Bright vixens jump; dozy fowl quack. Quick wafting zephyrs vex bold Jim. Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim. Sex-charged fop blew my junk TV quiz. How quickly daft jumping.
